Our production partner creates agricultural polyethylene irrigation tubing, which is used throughout the growing season and discarded after fulfilling its life in the field. What is Post-Consumer Recycled Resin?
Post-consumer recycled resin is simply a material made from recycled plastics. The PCR resin we use for our trash bags comes from the recycled agricultural irrigation tubing mentioned above. Our production partners recycle the plastic through a patented process called PCR-Pro™, transforming the polyethylene from the tubing into SCS-Certified post-consumer resin. PCR resin is shown to have lower impacts on the environment across the board, from lower global climate change emissions to less depletion of energy resources.
